Below are scriptures in Job that, I believe, have been streteched and I have given my understanding of the un streteched Hebrew definitions listed below. The (*) is my understanding of the word that follows it.
______________________________
Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly (*) feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
* = Dreadfully feared
The definition of this kind of fear only occures a few times in the O.T. (it is a dreadfull fear). This is not the fear used many times in scripture indicating fearing the Lord (which is a good fear).
Stretch (fear): This fear did not destroy Job's life.
Un stretch (dreadfull fear): The law of faith says this is why Job was allowed to be destroyed by satan. This law is shown many times in the NT. It shows that one should not doubt or is demonstrated when Jesus said to the Appostles "do not fear" (a Dreadfull fear). God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Dreadfull fear destroyed in the OT just like it destroys in the NT.
_____________________________
Job 1:12 And the Lord said to Satan, "(*) behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. >>
* = go see
Stretch (behold): God tells satan to do destruction in Jobes life.
Un stretched (go see): Satan did not know Job was in his power. God had to tell satan: if he went and looked he would see Job is in his power. Job is already in satan's hands because Job said that which I have feared has came upon me. God then limits satan to not laying hand on his person.
________________________________
Job 2:3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a (*) perfect and upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou (**) movisdst me against him, to destroy him without cause.>>
* = wholesome, moral
Stretch (perfect): Job is perfect
Unstretch (wholesome, moral): Job was this and more as described in this verse. But he was not perfect because he dreadfully feared.
** = incite
Stretch (movisdst): God directly done destruction in Job's life.
Unstretched (incite): Satan tried to get God to directly do destruction in Job's life. But God did not directly do this destruction. He let satan do the destruction because of the law of faith. Or in this case Job had faith in his fear. The opposite of faith in God but still the law of faith.

Job 2:3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.>>
I looked up the Greek definition of movedst and incite was the first definition: I next looked up the word incite in Webster: Incite is stirring up but does not mean that any action was done by the one being incited. I would say satan tried to get God to directly move against Job. But God did not directly move against Job and God could not stop satan from directly moving against Job because of the law of faith. The more I study this subject the more I believe the Christian community incorrectly understood major important aspects of Job. What thrilled me is this shows a constant God throughout OT and NT in terms of the law of faith. The NT very much says do not doubt or have dreaded fear and the OT says the same in Job. A God with the spiritual law of faith that never changes from beginning to end of time.

Hi Kenneth,

Excellent Posting!

You are right the book of Job is the most misunderstood and most abused book by non-Christians.

It is not a bet between God and Satan with Job being the sport. It is the fact that God is allowing trying times to enter into the life of Job in order to Mature, Grow, Strengthen and bring Job into an even closer relationship with God.

God knew in advance that Job Would Succeed and that Job would have the victory and therefore God allowed Job to go through it.

God Bless you,
David

Thanks for the recognition of the truth and concerns with Job.
Amen. I wonder if Job would have personally tried to grow and do not fear if the trials would have been less? I need to think about this a little.
God Bless
Kenneth
